David Knight Has a piece about the weather vane on the Town Hall, Peter Brown spoke about the bombing at Tern Hill and I have a short piece related to our previous project on wheel stones.

The Local History Group is led by Kath Irving, who can be contacted via email above.

Recent topics have included Men of Market Drayton who fought in WW2, Ladyline canal boat company, Electric Light and Power Company of Market Drayton, a visit to St Mary's Church, the unexploded bomb found at Broomhill Garage, the horsehair weaving industry of Market Drayton and the graves of Polish airmen in Market Drayton cemetery.

The group meets at the Beacon Centre on the third Wednesday of each month at 2:00 pm. There is a fee of £2 per person for each meeting, which goes towards the rental of the room and refreshments. While members are encouraged to share their research, attending just to listen is also welcomed.

New members are very welcome.
