Walkers meet at Market Drayton Swimming Pool car park, leaving at 9:30hrs on the 2nd Thursday of the month.
Walks are relatively easy and are usually about 5 miles. New members are welcome, please contact convenor on link above. If you are thinking of joining us bring a snack.
The location of walks are not stated until nearer the time when details can be obtained from this web page or the walks co-ordinators. Walks can involve up to 30mins travelling by car to the start point and normally finish back at the Swimming Pool car park about lunchtime.
We encourage car sharing and suggest £1.50 per walk per passenger irrespective of distance.

Walk details. The next walk will be a 5 mile undulating and scenic walk with plenty of interest, we will be walking back through Hill Valley Golf Club.
Parking for the start of this walk will be at the free Sherrymills car park in Whitchurch SY13 1BN
Meet up as usual at the swimming Baths at 9:30am

This was going to be a linear walk of just 5 miles. Taking the 10:20 am No 64 Bus from the MD Bus Station to Loggerheads.
Walking back to MD along the Newcastle Way. Along the way pass/cross the site of the Battle of Blore Heath (1459).
Mostly woodland tracks and field paths. There are a number of stiles, one challenging!

The walk start point was from Market Drayton Cricket Club and was approx 5.5 miles . We walked on roads then over fields and through farms and then through the woods crossing the River Tern { it was a muddy walk in places }
We came back to the Cricket Club along the canal towpath

The start point of the walk was at Prees Heath Common ( off A49) .
Our walk was a circular one of approx 5.5 miles mainly over country roads, farm and field tracks, there were a couple of stiles.

The easiest way to get to this is up the A41 Whitchurch direction and turn left onto Manor House Lane ( this is the junction just before old parked up lorry trailers.}
Continue to the end of Manor House Lane to junction of A49 then turn Right and the entrance to the Heath is on your Right (slightly before a turning Left to Steel Heath

February 12th . Walk leader John and Jean Ellis
Walk details : This walk was 5miles long in the Norton in Hales area over roads and field paths with 5 stiles. After recent rain it was nice to have a dry day, however the ground was really muddy in places.
Parking was in the village car park opposite the Hinds Head pub.

A 5 mile circular walk around Norbury, starting from the Junction Inn { ST20 0 PN} walking on lanes, field paths and canal towpath.
After the walk we enjoyed our group Christmas meal in the Junction Inn

The walk was a 4.5 mile circular one over road, field paths , canal towpath and country lanes. There were 3 stiles almost at the start of the walk, after the rain we had this week it was muddy in places.
Oct 9th 2025 Walk Leaders were Phil and Ann Robinson
Walk details . the walk started in Calverhall, from the car park by the bus shelter/library.
The walk was a circular one and 6 miles long. Mostly fields, some electric fencing on route and overhead brambles in places. No hills but ponds and trig points on the way.
September 11th 2025Croxton circular walk
The leader for this walk was Sharita, it was one of approximately 6 miles, we went over field paths, country lanes and through a wood. One stile was a little tricky to cross over but all good apart from that. Very muddy in places.

Aug 14th 2025 Circular walk from Four Alls
The leader for this walk was Brian, it was a 5.3 circular one starting and finishing from the Four Alls car park, it was mostly over fields and farm tracks with only 2 stiles to cross.
July 10th 2025, Hinstock circular walk

The walk was a 5.5 mile circular walk starting at Hinstock, the terrain was mostly farm tracks and field paths with a small amount of road. There were 3 or 4 stiles and in one of the fields cattle.
June 12th Walk 2025, Brown Moss & Ash Magna.
Leader David Mob 07714 104871. Starting at 10am from the well hidden carpark behind the 'Welcome to Brown Moss' sign. Ref SJ 563 395. Just 5 miles along a mixture of field paths, farm tracks and short stretches of country roads. There are no stiles. Conditions under foot will be dependant not only on the weather, but what the local farmer is up to!

Walk Details : The walk was at Wybunbury and is just over 5 miles, there are a few cattle in one field but I am told they should be no problem, there are also a few stiles en route. Parking was at the overflow parking at the Swan Inn in Wynbunbury, Postcode CW5 7NA

A 5 mile up and down undulating circular walk starting from Lee Brockhurst, SJ 54871 26798 ( This is not the same walk as we did last September). We will be walking on Field paths, gravel paths and quiet country lanes, there are 2 stiles. Directions to start point. From the A49 turn at the signpost for Lee Brockhurst, travel a few yards over the bridge and you will see the parking area on your right, by an old red telephone box.

Walk started at Sugnall and was an easy 5 miles on lanes, tracks and fields. Directions:- At Loggerheads turn right onto B5026 towards Eccleshall. At Sugnall crossroads turn right signed Sugnall Walled Garden. After 100 metres turn right into car park.
9th January 2025 UNFORTUNATELY THIS WAS CANCELLED DUE TO THE WEATHER CONDITIONS BEING A SAFETY RISK.

Walk started at the Junction Inn, Norbury Junction ST20 0PN. It was an easy 5 mile walk on canal paths, tracks and quiet lanes. No stiles and all on the flat. We were given permission to park in the pub car park prior to the walk.

Leader was Marlene and David Farrington 01630 657106. Details of this walk was a 5 mile walk on tracks, fields, canal and a bit of lane, there were 3 or 4 stiles. The walk started from Overwater Marina, Audlem. (This is the walk which was cancelled last month)

Leaders . Marlene and David 01630 657106. Details of this walk. WALK CANCELLED OWING TO WEATHER CONDITIONS AND PARTS OF ROUTE NOT SUITABLE AFTER DAYS OF RAIN. A 5 mile walk on tracks, fields, canal and a bit of lane , there are 3 or 4 stiles. The start point of the walk is from the Overwater Marina, Coole Lane, Nantwich CW5 8AY. Meet up as usual 9:30am at the baths.

Walk Leaders must always nominate a back marker and make a list of those on the walk with their contact details. The list should be passed to the Group Co-ordinator. Walks can cover various areas and as such are not suitable for dogs.
