This small group of people, who enjoy reading and listening to poetry.

The programme, which is planned for the year ahead, after a ballot on members’ suggestions, varies from poems on a particular theme, or by a particular poet. Each member chooses two or three poems to read aloud.

We also have members who prefer just to listen.

Members take it in turn, if they wish, to research the life and times of a particular poet, and give a short talk to the rest of the group. We usually have a lovely mix of old favourites dimly remembered from school or childhood, and exciting new discoveries.

For those people without anthologies, the library has a good selection, and amazing things can be found on the Internet.
